What a day it was! Peak summer spent around the Chiemgau region in Bavaria. Setting out for a holiday like experience we rolled out of FINGERSCROSSED’s home in Traunstein to conquer some more remote gravel roads and mountain tops.

However the focus was not on challenging ourselves uphill but rather making memories along the way. We collected those like souvenirs. Each style of the collection symbolic for those.

After being greeted by Sepp who insisted of filling our bidons with locally brewed beer we did extend our break with a classic Bavarian Brotzeit and a few rounds of card-games.

Refueled in the best way, happy and content we got ourselves back on our bikes to collect more memories.

Though we did not have to ride far to find the next ‘aid station’ that gave us the chance for a refreshing cold mountain water refill. Much needed on a day like this where temperatures were peaking in the low thirties during early afternoon.

From pedaling over gravel roads to mountain tops and cottages. In between flowery meadows and beers in our bidons we had a lot to explore and even more fun on the way to do so. A perfect summer-day whose memories will last us a long time. It’s sometimes astonishing how close to home you can have such a strong feel of vacation.

Get yourself inspired to head out without a plan, grab your closest friends and make the most out of those long summer days.
